What’s more exciting than a new product launch? How about a whole new product category! We’ve been working hard at RB HQ to bring Pet products to Redbubble, and we’re getting ready to launch the first three products. The Pet product category will bring a new audience of pet lovers to your Redbubble shops, so it’s a great opportunity to reach new customers and increase your sales. 

Pet Mats, Blankets, and Bandanas are available in the uploader now. Customers won’t be able to buy them yet, and you won’t see them in your shop until launch, but you can add designs and start getting your new products ready. Below you’ll find product details, design templates, and everything else you need to help you prepare.

Product Specs

Pet Mats

Pets Mats come in two shapes, a Fish Mat for our feline friends, and a Bone Mat for our canine pals. They feature a 100% polyester face and backing with a 100% polyurethane memory foam core. They’re made from absorbent foam and have a non-skid, non-slip base. Pet Mats are printed with an edge-to-edge, fade-resistant full-color sublimation print on top.

One size – 48.3cm x 35.6cm / 19″ x 14″

Pet Bandanas

Pet Bandanas come in two sizes to cater to different breeds and neck sizes. They are a triangle-tie shape which makes the bandana easy to tie on, and they fit over an adjustable collar. Pet Bandanas are made from 100% polyester woven fabric with medium to heavy weight and they’re machine washable. They feature edge to edge printing on the top side and solid white on the reverse.

Sizes:

• Small – 73.66 x 55.88cms / 20 x 14” (two shorter sides of triangle)
• Large – 50.8 x 35.56cms / 29 x 22” (two shorter sides of triangle)

Pet Blankets

Pet Blankets come in two sizes, suitable for a range of breeds both cats and dogs. They’re made from machine washable, 100% polyester fleece. The front features edge-to-edge design sublimation print and the reverse is off-white.

Sizes:

• Medium – 101 x 76cm / 40” x 30” – suitable for small dogs, puppies, and cats
• Large – 152 x 127cm / 60” x 50” – for medium to large dogs

Adding Pets Products to Your Shop

There are four new tiles in the uploader, one for each of the pet mats, one for bandanas, and one for pet blankets. To add a product, scroll down to the tile and click on it to adjust the positioning of your artwork. When you’re happy with how your product looks, click on ‘apply changes’, then make sure the product is enabled and the button is green. If you’d like to customize your design you can use ‘Replace image’ to add artwork files you’ve created just for these products.

Design Templates

We’ve created design templates to show the safe zones and bleed areas. It’s important to make sure your design fills the whole template and that you keep the most important elements of your design within the safe zones.

Right click on the images below to save the design templates as PNG files. To use the templates, open or import the files into your editing software as a separate layer. Create a new layer for your design and adjust the opacity so you can see the template underneath.

If you’re not using the template files, the dimensions are:

• Dog Mat: 4800 x 3657 pixels
• Cat Mat: 3150 x 2400 pixels
• Pet Bandana: 4500 x 2700 pixels
• Pet Blanket: 7632 x 6480 pixels

Design Tips for High-Quality Products

For the best results, we recommend designing specifically for these products. If you are going to enable existing designs, please take time to check they look great and you’re happy with the formatting. Quality is better than quantity. Check your designs cover the full print area and key areas of your design are not cut off. Well-formatted products are more likely to sell, customers will have more confidence in the quality of your products, and they are more likely to return to your shop.

Tips for Pet Bandanas

The print area for Bandanas is quite large but they are designed to be folded, so the top area of the design will not be seen. The main focus is on the area at the bottom of the triangle. We recommend aligning your designs to the bottom of the focus area. The scale of your design is important, especially if you’re designing patterns. We recommend scaling down the design so you see more detail in the focus area.

The Pet Mats come in two different shapes. If you keep the main focus of your design within the safe zone your product should look great.

Tips for Pet Blankets

Pet blankets come in two different sizes.  The large size is taller and the medium size is wider so design placement will be slightly different. We recommend optimizing your design for the medium size. We predict this product will be popular with owners of smaller dog breeds, and the lower price point should mean more sales for the medium size.
