How To Use Photo Reference When You’re Drawing

Guest blog from Kirsten Winkelbauer

Sometimes when you get stuck on what ideas to draw, or how to draw something specific, a good place to turn to is using photos as reference. However, this sometimes puts artists in a position where they toe the line between being inspired and copying. If you’re new to using reference, this can be a little overwhelming at first, so let’s break it down a little!

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to study photographs and use them to come up with new and unique ideas. There are tons of resources out there to get ideas, and once you start exposing yourself to them, it’ll become easier and easier to create new designs that really stand out.
