Apply for the 2016 Redbubble Residency

We’ve opened applications for the 2016 Redbubble Residency program, and we want YOU to apply. Our 3 current residents (Fiona Skipper, George Rose, and Steve Leadbeater) are finalizing their works for the concluding show Made in House this November, and we can’t wait to get new artists into our office to make more great things (although the 2015 residents will be a tough act to follow!).

We’re on the hunt for 3 artists to make Redbubble’s Melbourne HQ their creative hub for 6 months. Benefits include your own studio with 24/7 access, mentoring and lessons on promoting yourself as an artist, displaying your work in the Made in House exhibition, and the pleasure of Redbubble staff’s hilarious jokes and fabulous company of course.

Think you’ve got what it takes to be one of Redbubble’s Artists-in-Residence?

And while we’re talking Residents, let’s take a look at what our 2014 group have been up to.

Andy Thomas

Digital artist and nature lover Andy Thomas continues to kick butt and has just been accepted into a residency program in Finland. Working on the theme “Neo Future,” Andy will spend one month living in a technologically advanced facility based in a remote forest. He will be exploring the forest to sample photographs of nature around him as well as recording bird sounds to be used in technology-based artwork. Andy also has work featured in a Melbourne based exhibition called “The Rights of Humans in a Digital Age,” running at Brunswick St. Gallery until 15th October 2015 (details).

Creature Creature

Artist duo Chanel and Ambrose from Creature Creature have been keeping busy since the conclusion of their residency, largely with some commercial clients on the rebranding of food packaging — that’s all we’re allowed to know for now, but apparently it’s a very cool project! Creature Creature have also set up a studio space that runs out the back of Melbourne’s Ruffian Gallery, and have just inherited some screen printing equipment. Exciting stuff!

Marian Machismo

Marian Machismo has been continuing to create intricate line drawings with a touch of social commentary, while also adventuring through Europe. You can see more of her work via her Redbubble shop and Instagram.
