Weekend Inspiration: Ursula K. Le Guin On Art and Commerce

"Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art..."

At the 65th annual National Book Awards, legendary fantasy author was given the award for distinguished contribution to American letters. In her speech, she laid down the law on art vs commerce, the Amazon/Hachette wars, sci-fi’s banishment from the world of “respectable” literature, and more. I think watching the above, badass video in its entirety should give you (regardless of the type of art you create) the juice to motor you through your, hopefully, creatively fulfilling weekend.
