Love him or hate him, Andy Warhol was a catalyst for contemporary art and his ambitious relationship with art and industry has lived on well after his death. Known for using models, photographers and artists during his lifetime, he has become the pop art poster child that everybody loves to hate. The only Warhol quotes I could remember have become cliches (“everyone will be famous for 15 minutes”) or they were completely money-centric. When I stumbled across this quote by Warhol, it was nice to see the artist’s mind at work focusing on creating art. I think his thoughts below is sound advice to live by, just get your work done and make even more art, all of the time. I’m yet to meet a talented successful artist that didn’t just keep making art, all the time, whenever they could.
"Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art."
