Happy Birthday, H.P. Lovecraft

Today, August 20, is the birthday of iconic horror writer Howard Phillips “H.P.” Lovecraft. The creator of the “Cthulhu Mythos” would’ve been 124 years old if he hadn’t passed away in 1937 at 46 (or if that was possible). Due to his very controversial views on race Lovecraft is equally loathed as he is loved, but his contribution to the history of horror cannot be overlooked. The cult following of his mystical beast Cthulhu and its fellow “Old Ones” has inspired nearly 100 years of stories, games, toys, and art the you see below.
